LaShea Shaw adidas® OVC Track Athlete of the Week

LaShea Shaw is No. 2 all time at MSU in the 60m dash and 60m hurdles

For the first time this season a member of the Murray State track team has claimed the adidas® OVC Track Athlete of the Week award. That honor falls to junior, LaShea Shaw who picked up wins in the 60m dash and 60m hurdles last weekend at the SIU Invitational.

Shaw started out her day placing first in the 60m dash with a personal-best time of 7.62, which is fourth in the conference this season and No. 2 all time at MSU. Her career day continued in the 60m hurdles where she collected her second win of the day. Shaw won the event with a time of 8.52, another personal-best. She now ranks third in the OVC in the event and bettered her No. 2 all-time mark with the Racers.

This is Shaw's first time being honored by the OVC and the first time a Racer has been named adidas® Track Athlete of the Week since Alexis Love in 2013.

Shaw and the Racers are back in action this weekend at the Grand Valley State Big Meet in Allendale, Mich., Feb. 14-15.
