Bison Hand Breds 3-2 Defeat

North Dakota State scored a run in the top of the sixth inning to break a 2-2 tie and hand Murray State a 3-2 defeat in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Reagan Field.
NDSU did their damage with one out as Wes Satzinger doubled to left center and came in to score on a Blake Turbak single to left center.
The Bison (2-3) got on the board in the second as Kyle Kleinendorst singled through the right side and stole second. Nick Altavilla drove in the runner with a single to right center.
NDSU doubled its lead in the fourth as Satzinger doubled to left field and scored when Kleinendorst followed with a double to left center.
The Breds (4-5) managed to tie the game in the fifth as Dalton West walked to start the inning. With one out, Ty Stetson doubled to right center to put runners on second and third. Two batters later, Taylor Mathews singled through the left side to score two.
Cameron Finch (0-1) took the loss after allowing three runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings. Trevor Jaunich (1-0) picked up the victory after allowing just one hit and striking four over 2.1 innings.
The two teams will play the second game of the doubleheader approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.
