Two School Records Broken at Indiana Relays

Murray State track & field competed in the Indiana University Relays at Gladstein Fieldhouse.

Day One
Friday consisted of field prelim events, high jump, long jump, shot put, and weight throw.
Â
Tonia Pratt came out on top in the weight throw when she threw a new career-high and MSU All-Time Best Lists 19.58m. Her distance ranks as a USATF Qualifier.She also threw a season-best 13.94m in the shot put to get 5th out of 18.

Among the bests of the meet was Ashley Conway who took first place in the long jump with a distance of 5.69m. She also cleared 1.60m in the high jump.

Deja Rodgers qualified for Saturday's 60m Semis when she ran 7.79. She also finished the 200m in 10th with a time of 25.50.

LaShea Shaw ran in the 60m and 200m and finished in 8.01 and 26.27, respectively. Shaw also competed in the 60m hurdles and qualified for the Semis on Saturday with a mark of 8.97.Taylor McCammon qualified for the Semis in the 60m hurdles on Saturday with a 8.98 mark, while she finished the 60m dash in 8.03.

Vallery Korir finished in fourth and found her way onto the All-Time Bests List with a time of 10:09.90.

Natalie Pattin had a season-best performance in the 600m with 1:38.03. Emma Gilmore followed closely with a 1:38.09 mark.Brittany Bohn crossed the finish line in the mile in 5:07.60, while Emani Griffin made it at the 5:41.78 mark. Alicyn Hester finished the 3000m run in 10:32.38. Kristen Higgins did the 60m hurdles in 9.79. Abbie Lukens threw a career-best 12.77m to get 10th out of 18 and rank on the MSU All-Time Bests List.Â

Brianna McCarthy competed in the weight throw and threw it 13.28m for a season-high.

Saturday will consist of the 60m Semis, 400m, 800m, 60m hurdles Semis, triple jump, 4x400m relay, and 4x800m relay.
Day Two
The second day of the Indiana Relays consisted of  the 60m Semis, 400m, 800m, 60m hurdles Semis, triple jump, 4x400m relay, and 4x800m relay.

The school record for the 4x800m relay was set in 1990 and was 9:27.74, Saturday at the Indiana Relays that record was broken. Brittany Bohn, Emma Gilmore, Tia Weston, and Natalie Pattin completed the relay in 9:15.09.

During the Semi-finals of the 60m hurdles, LaShea Shaw qualified for the finals when she placed 6th with a time of 8.87. In the finals she placed 6th in 8.92. Taylor McCammon ran the 60m hurdles semi-finals in 9.03 to put herself in 9th place.

Two Racers placed in the top five during the 800m. Emma Gilmore ran a season-best 2:16.77 for 4th place, while Brittany Bohn ran a career-best 2:16.89 for 5th place. Natalie Pattin completed the 800m in 2:29.69.

Taylor Adcock completed the 400m in 1:00.56, while Victoria Yocum ran 400m in 1:01.66.
