The Murray State volleyball team looks to continue its quest for its second consecutive OVC Tournament title as the No. 1 seed Racers host fourth-seeded Tennessee State Friday at 7 p.m. at Racer Arena in the semifinals of the OVC Championship Tournament. MSU advanced to the semis by virtue of its sweep of Southeast Missouri Thursday night while TSU defeated the No. 5 seed Eastern Kentucky in a five-set thriller.
Scottie Ingram led the Racers with 12 kills in the win over the Redhawks while Olivia Chatman added eight kills and a team-high .727 hitting percentage. As a team, MSU hit .275 while holding SEMO to just a .058 hitting mark. The Racers also out-blocked the Redhawks 11-8 and had a 7-1 edge in service aces in the win.
The winner of Friday's match will face the winner of No. 2 Belmont and No. 6 Tennessee Tech in the Championship Match Saturday at 7 p.m. inside Racer Arena.
