Racers Set For Title Tilt With Belmont

The Murray State volleyball team looks to become just the fourth team in OVC history to win back-to-back OVC Tournament Championships on Saturday as the Racers will host Belmont at 7 p.m. in the title tilt. With a win, it would become MSU's fifth tournament championship (1989, '92, 2003 and '14).
The Racers advanced to the title match by sweeping Tennessee State Friday night in the semifinals in a hard-fought match. The Racers won by scores of 25-16, 30-28 and 25-22. Scottie Ingram and Kristen Besselsen led Murray State with 18 and 15 kills, respectively. Sam Bedard averaged over 17 assists per set with 52 helpers in the win. Ellie Lorenz led the squad with 17 digs.
MSU swept Belmont in the two's only other meeting earlier this season. In that win, Ingram and Taylor Olden led the Racers with 11 kills each while Bedard had a double-double with 32 assists and 11 digs. Besselsen had a team-high 13 digs in the sweep.
Belmont enters the championship match by way of its victories over Morehead State (in three) Thursday and a four-set victory Friday over Tennessee Tech in the semifinal round.
