The Murray State women's basketball team closes out 2015 with a home exhibition contest against Lindenwood-Belleville Wednesday at 5 p.m. at "The Bank". The Racers are coming off a pair of losses in the state of Florida to Jacksonville and Florida State prior to the holiday break.
The Racers' previous home contest was an 89-64 victory back on Dec. 14 against Blue Mountain. Ke'Shunan James led all scorers with 26 points in the victory on 10-of-16 shooting while Kyra Gulledge went a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor and scored a career-high 15 points. James is averaging 24.7 points per game over the last three contests for MSU.
The Lynx have four players averaging in double figures this season Rilea Huff and Kindra Brown lead the team averaging 13.4 and 13.3 points per game, respectively. Torre Kohrmann averages 12.6 per and Candace Niemerg is averaging 11.9 per contest. Those four account for 82 percent of Lindenwood-Belleville's scoring output on the year. Niemerg leads the team averaging 7.3 rebounds per game while Korhmann's 33 assists are a team high.
The Lynx are averaging 62.6 points per game on the year and are allowing 72.7. LU is led by Head Coach Jeff Reis who is in his third season as the head man for the Lynx. Reis served as an assistant on the staff the three seasons prior to taking over the head job.
Wednesday's exhibition will be the Racers' final tune-up prior to beginning OVC play Jan. 2 when MSU hosts Morehead State in a 4:30 p.m. contest.
