Racers Begin Outdoor Season at Alabama Relays

The Murray State track and field team begins their outdoor season at the John Mitchell Alabama Relays in Tuscaloosa, Alabama Thursday through Saturday. MSU hopes to begin their outdoor season on a high-note to begin their preparation for the OVC Championship in May.

The Alabama Relays begin on Thursday with just the hammer throw and javelin events. Six Racers will compete on Thursday to start us off on a high note.

On Friday, the Racers will compete in the triple jump, high jump and shot put for field events where we have seven student-athletes taking the field. The running events begin on Friday with the 4x200m relay, 400m hurdles, 100m dash, 400m dash, 1500m dash, 1600 sprint medley, and 5000m run. The 5000m run will consist of nine Racers, the most in any event for Murray State.

The final day of the meet is Saturday which consists of discus throw, long jump, and pole vault to close out the field events. To close out the track events for the weekend, MSU will compete in the 4x100m relay, 100m hurdles, 3000m steeplechase, 800m, distance medley, 4x400m relay.
