Racers Fall to Cougars on the Road

The Murray State men's tennis team fell to SIU Edwardsville 6-1 in Edwardsville, Illinois on Friday.

During the doubles, Anjan Kashyab and Aleks Mitric fell quickly 8-0 to Patrick Gaffigan and Matthew Hitchinson on court three. Will True and Srdjan Trosic fought hard against Nicolas Vincent and Stephen Washuta, but fell 9-7 on court two. David Hess and Max McLean could not defeat Nico Kuehn and Marten Jonsson as the Cougars took the doubles point.

The Cougars kept their momentum from doubles to the singles matches. Jonsson quickly took the first singles point from True, 6-1, 6-2. McLean took Murray State's first point of the match when Vincent retired after they split the first two sets 4-6, 6-4. Â SIUE was able to take the rest of the singles points to take the match win 6-1.
