Racers Travel for Bill Cornell Spring Classic

Murray State track & field team travels to Carbondale, Illinois for the Bill Cornell Spring Classic hosted by Southern Illinois.

The Racers are coming off of a big first outdoor meet hosted by the University of Alabama. Vallery Korir finished the 5000m in 17:03.37, which is now second for best at Murray State. Ali Hester found her name on two of the Murray State Outdoor Bests lists; she is fourth in the 1500m with a time of 4:38.22, and third in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:10.69. Rebekah Priddy, who also competed in the 3000m steeplechase made the All-time best list with a time of 11:59.82, which stands as eighth best.

MSU will begin the Bill Cornell Spring Classic with the field events starting with the discus and ending with the javelin. The running events will start at 12:35 with the 3000m steeplechase and the day will end with the 4x400m relay. Murray State is looking to end this meet on a high note as next week they will host the Margaret Simmons meet at Murray State University.Â
