Pratt and Bohn Top Events at OVC Championship

Murray State track and field battled through two days of weather delays to finish the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championship in sixth place. The Racers had 11 top five finishes, including two first place finishes.

Day Two
LaShea Shaw and Taylor McCammon finished the heptathlon in third and seventh place respectively. Shaw finished the 800m in 2:35.09, threw the javelin 29.29m, and went 4.90m in the long jump. McCammon ran the 800m in 3:06.52, jumped 5.33m in the long jump and then threw 24.30m in the javelin.

Vallery Korir finished the 5000m second with a time of 17:05.88.

Sydney Potts threw the javelin 38.49m and finished second. Ashley Conway threw 32.92m which ended her up in ninth place. Kennedy Berkley threw 26.97m.

Tonia Pratt competed in the shot put and hammer throw on day two. She finished third in the hammer with a throw of 55.50m, while she finished fourth in the shot put with her throw of 14.04m.

Shaw competed in the 100m hurdles on day one and made it to the finals. During the finals she finished in 15.32 which was good for eighth place.

Brittany Bohn ran the 1500m and finished in 4:40.42, while Emma Gilmore finished in 5:01.01.

Alexis Schleper threw the hammer 39.07m, while Brianna McCarthy threw the hammer 35.15m.

Tonia Pratt finish in first when she set a personal record, school record, and Ohio Valley Conference record when she threw the discus 52.22m (171'4").

Brittany Bohn finished in first and set a personal record in the 3000m steeplechase when she finished in 10:55.72.
After four events in the heptathlon, LaShea Shaw sits in second, while Taylor McCammon sits in fifth. Shaw had season best time in the100m hurdles (14.43). McCammon set personal records in two events starting with the 100m hurdles (14.66) and then 200m dash (26.22).

Chleo LeGrand set a personal record of 3.58m which landed her in third in the pole vault.
Meagan Smith and Abbie Oliver both set personal records when they finished 7th and 8th in the 10000m. Smith now ranks 9th on the MSU All-Time best list with her 38:28.12 finish. Oliver set her record with a time of 38:94.44.Â

Ashley Conway finished fifth in the high jump with a season best 1.64m (5'4.5") jump. She also finished fourth in the long jump with a distance of 6.04m (19'9.75").

Anna Curlin finished the 400m dash in 59.82, while Summer Wheeler set a personal record with a time of 1:00.20.

After setting a season best, Shaw set another season best when she finished the 100m hurdles in 14.29 as she also qualified for the finals tomorrow. Jolyta Henderson set a personal record in the event with her time of 15.45.

Emma Gilmore finished 11th in the 800m with a time of 2:17.66, while Emani Griffin set a personal record in the event with a 2:21.74 finish. Raeven Wilson also competed in the event and finished in 2:22.70.
