Bohn Sets Record at Kentucky Relays

Murray State track and field team competed in their last meet before the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championship. The Racers traveled to the University of Kentucky for the Kentucky Relays in Lexington. The group consisted of MSU student-athletes who will be making their way to the OVC Championship meet in two weeks.

Brittany Bohn had a stand out day when she first set a personal record and school record in the mile with a time of 5:01.68. She then set a personal record in the 800m with a time of 2:12.20. Her time also stands as the fifth best time at Murray State.Â

Natalie Pattin, Bohn, Anna Culin, and Emma Gilmore set a new personal record with a 3:58.55 finish in the 4x400m relay. It also stands as the second best finish at Murray State.

Kiara Austin set a personal record in the triple jump, which also holds her position as the second best distance at MSU. Her distance was 12.40m (40'8.25"). Austin also competed in the long jump and jumped 4.88m (16'.25").

Vallery Korir set personal records in both the 800m and the mile. Korir ran a 5:04.73 mile which stands as second best time at Murray State, while running a 2:18.13 800m.

Curlin set a personal record in the 400m dash with a 58.57 finish, while Summer Wheeler set a personal record 1:01.22 finish.

Raeven Wilson set her own personal record in the 800m with 2:19.98, while Emani Griffin also set a personal record of 2:22.40.

Alicyn Hester and Abbie Oliver set personal records in the mile and now sit in third and fourth on the MSU All-Time Best list with respective times of 5:19.73 and 5:19.85.

Tonia Pratt finished in the top 10 in the discus, hammer throw, and shot put. Her shot put went 14.96m (49'1") good for third, while her discus went 45.71m (150') which was good for fourth. She threw 51.22m (168') in the hammer for sixth. Â

Sydney Potts racked up a third place finish with a 38.75m (127'1") distance in the javelin. Kennedy Berkley also competed in the event and threw 32.02m (105'1") which was good for sixth place finish.

Rebekah Priddy was the lone Racer to compete in the 3000m steeplechase and finished in 12:03.57.

LaShea Shaw picked up two top 15 finishes with the first being her 10th place finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:06.69. Shaw also competed in the 100m hurdles and finished in 14.55 which was good for 11th place.

Ashley Conway competed in both the high jump and the shot put. She cleared 1.53m (5'.25") in the high jump, while throwing 11.47m (37'7.75") in the shot put.

Gilmore finished ninth in the 800m with a time of 2:14.84. Natalie Pattin and Ali Hester finished the event in 2:20.09 and 2:24.08, respectively.

Alexis Schleper and Brianna McCarthy both competed in the discus and hammer throw. Schleper threw 33.47m (109'10"), while McCarthy threw 31.78m (104'3") in the discus. McCarthy then threw 40.77m (133'9"), and Schleper threw 39.22m (128'8") in the hammer throw.

Taylor McCammon competed in the 100m with a 14.77 finish time, while also competing in the long jump with a distance of 4.93m (16'2.25").

Four Racers competed in the 5000m run starting with Meagan Smith who finished in 10th with a time of 18:17.20. Leah Krause followed directly behind Smith with an 18:26.88 time. Caroline Grogan and Emily Flaherty finished the event in 18:42.49 and 18:58.66, respectively.

Jolyta Henderson competed in the 100m hurdles and finished in 15.71.

Victoria Yocum was the lone Racer to compete in the 100m dash and she finished in 12.88.
