Second Half Surge Leads Racers Past SIUE

Murray State Racers used a big second half to run away with a 70-54 win over the SIU Edwardsville Cougars at the CFSB Center in Murray, Ky.
The win evens the Racers' overall mark at 10-10 and kept them in first place in the Ohio Valley Conference West Division at 4-3. SIUE fell to 4-16 and 1-7 in the OVC.
Bryce Jones scored 16 points and Jeffery Moss added 15 points. Damarcus Croaker tossed in 12 points and Wayne Langston scored 11. Gee McGhee led the way on the boards with eight rebounds.
The Racers got off to a great start when they bolted from the gate to an 11-0 lead which included a 3-point basket from Moss. The lead went to 14 when Langston scored for a 25-11 lead with 6:26 before half.
MSU led 35-25 at the half.
The second half began with the Racers hitting 5-of-6 from the 3-point line with Moss hitting three of the long range darts. Jones and Justin Seymour each made one. When Moss hit another three at the 11:27 mark, the Racers led 57-37 with 11:27 left. The Racers' run to start the second half was 22-12.
Murray State takes to the road next week for games at Eastern Kentucky (Jan. 27) and UT Martin (Jan. 30). The game in Martin will be aired by the CBS Sports Network.
