The Murray State women's basketball team looks to pick up its first road win of the season on Monday as the Racers conclude their two-game road swing against East Tennessee State at 6 p.m., Murray time. MSU is coming off a 79-70 loss at Ohio Saturday.
LeAsia Wright led the Racers in the loss with 22 points on 7-of-14 shooting and 4-of-7 from 3-point range. Wright also added eight rebounds and a team-high three assists on the day, MSU tallied a season-low 10 assists as a team in the loss. Ke'Shunan James chipped in with 18 points and Abria Gulledge scored 14. Kyra Gulledge led the team with nine boards in the contest.
The Racers are 0-2 so far on the young season away from the CFSB Center, their only two blemishes of the season. MSU is averaging 66.5 points per game on the road this year while at home, the Racers are averaging 85.5 points and have outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points per game at "The Bank."
The Bucs are led offensively by the duo of Shamauria Bridges and Tianna Tarter, who are averaging 15 and 14.4 points per game, respectively on the season. Malloree Schurr leads the squad with 5.6 rebounds a game this season and a team-best 55.6 percent shooting from the floor. As a team, ETSU is shooting just 36 percent from the field and 29.7 percent of its 3-pointers.
The Bucs are looking to snap their current two-game losing streak on Monday, having lost to Appalachian State and Northern Kentucky last week. Head Coach Brittney Ezell is in her fourth season with the Buccaneers. Former MSU assistant Keisha McClinic is now an assistant with ETSU.
