Racers Take Down Colonels in Four - Win 10th Straight

The Murray State volleyball team was able to push its winning streak to double digits on Saturday as the Racers were able to hand Eastern Kentucky a four-set defeat inside of Racer Arena. Set scores went 25-22, 28-26, 23-25 and 25-18 as the Racers won their 10th in a row.
Scottie Ingram was the boost the Racers needed offensively on the day as she recorded a match-high 26 kills and hit .321 in the win. Ingram also had 16 digs, a pair of blocks and an ace on the day for MSU (18-8, 13-1 OVC).
Kamille Jones was the only other Racer in double figure kills as she notched 11. Kristen Besselsen, Dacia Brown and Olivia Chatman all had eight kills each with Brown and Chatman hitting .400 and .312, respectively with Brown also had a team-high three aces in the win.
Hannah Stultz had a nice match at setter as she recorded 56 assists, nine digs, three kills and two aces on the day while leading MSU to a team hitting percentage of .230. Ellie Lorenz led the back row of the Racers with a match-high 23 digs while Alex Kaufmann had 11.
The win snapped the Colonels' (13-13, 8-6 OVC) five-match winning streak. EKU hit .219 as a team in the match and also out-blocked the Racers 12-5. MSU had eight aces on the day while the Colonels tallied six. EKU also had one more service error (7-6) than the Racers.
MSU will be playing for a chance to win a third consecutive OVC regular season title next weekend as the Racers close the regular season with a pair of home matches against Eastern Illinois and SIU Edwardsville on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
