Racers Drop Doubleheader at Middle Tennessee

The Murray State men's tennis team was unsuccessful in their doubleheader against Middle Tennessee as they lost 4-0 and 7-0 in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
In the first match the Racers put up a strong effort against the Blue Raiders in the doubles matches but fell short. Doubles partners Javier Villar and Srdjan Trosic won their match 6-4. Partners Will True and David Hess put up a good fight but fell short as they lost their match 7-6.
In the first set of singles matches, MTSU was too much for the Racers as they swept the MSU 3-0. Hess gave his opponent trouble as the match came down to a tiebreaker. Ultimately, Hess couldn't pull out the first set as he lost 7-6 (8-6).
In the second match of the doubleheader, head coach Mel Purcell made adjustments to the Racer lineup. Anjan Kashyab made his first appearance in a dual match this season but ultimately lost his singles match 6-1, 6-2 The result for Murray State was still the same as the Racers were swept 6-0.
MSU looks to bounce back as they travel to Lexington, Kentucky to take on the No. 49 Wildcats of the University of Kentucky on Saturday. Match time is set for 12 p.m.
