Racers Set School Record in Nashville

Rebekah Priddy set a new school record in the 2000 meter steeplechase as the Racers finished their weekend at the Black and Gold Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday. Priddy finished fourth in the event with a time of 7:06.
Vallery Korir set a new personal best in the outdoor season. Korir ran 9:50 in the 3000 meters. Her time ranks second all-time at Murray State for the outdoor season. Leah Krause ran a personal record in the event Krause finished with a time of 10:27. Her time is tenth all-time at MSU. Heatherly Paschall also set a personal record in the event as she finished with a time of 11:38.
Jabreuna Brimlett had an impressive performance in the 100 meter hurdles. In her first outdoor meet of the season, the freshman ran 13.97 in the event. The time ranks fourth all-time at MSU. Lauren Miller set a personal record in the event as she finished with a time of 15.14.
In the 400 meters, Anna Curlin led the way for the Racers as she ran a personal best 58.27. Freshmen Jocelyn Payne and Tamdra Lawrence competed in the event. Payne ran 58.57 and Lawrence finished closely behind with a time of 59.24.
In the 100 meters, Victoria Yocum ran 12.49. Tia Weston also competed in the event as she finished with a time of 13.17.
In the 800 meters, Emma Gilmore lead MSU as she finished with a time of 2:14. Emani Griffin set a new personal best in the event for the outdoor season as she finished with a time of 2:18.  Weston also competed in the event as she ran 2:21.
Christina Meinhardt finished tenth in the discus. The freshman threw 38.66 meters (126'10") in the event. Kai Perkins also competed in the event as she threw 26.37 meters (86'6").
In the long jump, Jolyta Henderson jumped 5.17 meters (16'11.5"). Jill Jachino also competed in the event as she jumped 4.68 meters (15'4.25").
Kristen Higgins led the way for Murray State in the javelin. She threw a personal best 32.46 meters (106'6"). Kennedy Brinkley (28.26 meters; 92'8.5") and Maddie Jones (27.96 meters; 91' 8.75") rounded out the Racers in the event.
The Racers host their next meet. The Margaret Simmons Invitational will be held on Friday at Roy Stewart Stadium.
