Racers Swept by Louisville

The Murray State men's tennis team fell in their road match against Louisville on Friday as they lost 7-0.
The Racers fell behind early as the Cardinals won the doubles point. Marcel Ueltzhoeffer and David Schrott faced the top doubles team from Louisville as they fell 6-2. David Hess was back in the lineup for the Racers as he and partner Will True fell 6-0 at the second doubles.
The Racers found that they could not bounce back in the singles matches despite playing the Cardinals closely in the matches. True played his opponent close at the No. 1 singles. He unfortunately fell 6-2, 6-4. Ueltzhoeffer played a tightly contested match at the No. 2 singles. He fell 7-6 in the first set and 6-4 in the second match. After being shutout in his first match, Hess bounced back playing a close second set at the No. 5 as he led his opponent 3-2 at one point. He would ultimately fall 6-0, 6-3.
The men's tennis team is back in action Tuesday as they take on Tennessee Wesleyan in double header at the Bennie Purcell Courts. First match is set for 1 p.m.
