Racers Travel to Hillsdale College Relays

The Murray State women's track and field team travel to compete at the 50th Annual Hillsdale College "Gina" Relays in Hillsdale, Michigan on Thursday.
The Racers come off a weekend where records fell and personal records improved. Vallery Korir set herself apart from the pack in the 10,000 meters as she broke her own school record as she ran 34:27 in the event. Her time ranks second in the OVC and 25th on the NCAA East Qualifying list.
Tamdra Lawrence set a new personal record in the 100 meters at the Missouri State Invitational. The freshman ran 11.72 and is currently ranked second in the OVC in the event. Her time ranks third all-time at MSU.
Fellow freshman Jabreuna Brimlett had a stellar weekend. Brimlett set outdoor personal records in every event in which she competed. In the 100m hurdles, she finished with a time of 13.96 - a time that ranks fourth in program history. She also competed in high jump as she finished in fifth clearing a height of 1.51 meters (4'11.5"). In the long jump, Brimlett jumped 5.75 meters (18'10.75"). Her distance ranks ninth all-time. In the triple jump, She jumped 11.97 meters (39'3.25") - a distance that ranks fifth in program history.
Christina Meinhardt also set personal record in her events at Missouri State. In the hammer throw, the freshman threw  44.61 meters (146'4"). Her throw ranks third all-time in program history. She also set a personal record in the shot put as she threw 12.96 meters (42'6.25"). Her throw ranks eighth all-time.
The Racers compete Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The first event for the Racers is the women's 3,000 meter steeplechase at 6 p.m.
