Last Weekend
The Racers had a tough weekend up in Eugene, Ore., as MSU lost to Oregon, UC Davis and San Diego State at the Oregon Classic. Scottie Ingram was named to the all-classic team after leading the Racers with 52 kills. Ellie Lorenz averaged five digs per set to lead MSU from her libero position.
Scouting Southern Illinois
The Salukis are led offensively by Andrea Estrada and Abby Barrow who have 67 and 64 kills, respectively this season. Alex Rosignol leads the team with a .345 attack percentage and is averaging two kills per set and also has a team-best 28 blocks. Setter Meg Viggars leads the team with 143 assists and is third with 50 kills in 2016. In the back row defensively, Mariana Pilon leads the team with 79 digs while Estrada is second with 72 digs. The Salukis are hitting .244 as a team and have 59.5 total blocks. SIU is led by head coach Justin Ingram.
Climbing the Ranks
Scottie Ingram moved into fifth-place on the all-time kills list in program history over the weekend, passing former teammate Taylor Olden and current Racers assistant coach Becca Lamb who were in fifth and sixth, respectively on the all-time list. Ingram's 1,194 career kills are just 12 from passing Lea Ann Allen for fourth all-time in MSU history.
Ellie Lorenz now sits eighth on the all-time digs list in MSU history with 1,354. Lorenz passed Kristi Hoffman in her last match against San Diego State to move behind Jill McCoy who has 1,464 career digs. Lorenz's 3.95 digs per set for her career is the fourth-best mark in school history.
