Racers Go Facebook Live Tuesday At OVC BB Media Day

The Murray State Racers are ready to start Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Media Days. The conference's annual gathering that previews the coming hoops season goes to a new city on Monday and Tuesday. The OVC and its members moved the 2018 conference tournament to the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana and OVC Media Day will be a time to explore the venue and the adjacent DoubleTree Hotel in downtown where most of the activities will occur.
For the first time, Murray State Athletics will be producing live programming with several segments planned on Facebook Live starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning. Dave Winder, MSU Associate AD – Media Relations, will serve as host along with Racer Radio announcers Neal Bradley and Jeremy Rose. Racer head coaches Rechelle Turner of the women's team and Matt McMahon of the men's team will also have live interviews during the 10 a.m. hour. Murray State Director of Athletics, Allen Ward will also appear.

One of the big parts of any media day is the revelation of the voting for the predicted order of finish and the OVC Preseason Teams. That news will be released by the OVC at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. The vote will be taken from the OVC's head coaches and sports information directors.
The 2017-18 season is the 93rd in Murray State men's history and the 70th in the OVC. While the Racer women's program will be competing in its 51st season and 39th season in the OVC.
Both Racer teams are looking forward to their exhibition games at the CFSB Center (Nov. 2). The day is a doubleheader as the MSU women's team takes on Georgetown (KY) at 5 p.m. and the men host against McKendree at 7 p.m.
