Racers Clash With Skyhawks - OVC Semifinals

The Murray State Racers take on the UT Martin Skyhawks in the semifinals of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Friday in a 9 p.m. tip at Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.
Froggy 103 (WFGS 103.7 FM) airs every MSU game with "Voice of the Racers" Neal Bradley, in his 26th season calling the action. Former MSU assistant coach Kenny Roth provides commentary. Froggy103.com and GoRacers.com has free online streaming audio. Online streaming video is available at ESPN3.com.
The Racers (16-16) have advanced to the semifinals of the event for the first time since 2015.
Racer fans are invited to enjoy drink specials and camaraderie with fellow Murray State fans at Music City Mingle. The free event will feature lots of fun and a pep rally with the MSU pep band and cheerleaders. Everyone is gathering at Nashville's Doubletree Hotel from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. The Doubletree is within easy walking distance of Municipal Auditorium. The second part of the pre-game party is a family-friendly gathering at Tequila Cowboy (305 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37201) from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
MSU is halfway to doing what was impossible before last season when Austin Peay won four games in four days to take the OVC Tournament title and advance to the NCAA Tournament. The Racers defeated Tennessee Tech Thursday 85-84 in double overtime and then last night took care of Morehead State 75-69. The No. 7 seeded Racers have knocked off the No. 6 seed TTU and the No. 3 seed Morehead State. UTM is the No. 2 seed after they won the OVC West Division.
Jonathan Stark was very good during the regular season, but in the OVC Tournament he has taken his game to an entirely different level. With 41 points and then 37 points, Stark is having an amazing event. His scoring average is 39.0 points per game in the tournament through two games. He has 78 points and is pushing toward the OVC record of 99 points by Austin Peay's Bubba Wells (1997) & Kyle Hill of Eastern Illinois (2001). With seven 3-point shots last night, Stark has become the MSU leader in single-season threes with 106. He surpassed De'Teri Mayes as the only MSU players to make 100 in a single-season. Mayes set the record in 103 in the 1997-98 season. Stark has become the sixth MSU player to score 700 points in a single season.
