The Murray State Racers women's basketball squad dropped an 82-80 decision Thursday to the Morehead State Eagles at the CFSB Center in Murray, Ky.

The loss meant the Racers fell to 7-13 overall and 3-6 in the Ohio Valley Conference as they prepare to host Eastern Kentucky Saturday in a 5 p.m. tip.
Â
The Racers got a game-high 34 points from Ke'Shunan James on 16-of-34 shooting, while Bria Bethea tossed in 24 points on 5-of-11 3-point shooting. Janika Griffith-Wallace added 10 points to the Racer attack.
Â
In what was almost the most amazing comeback you would ever see, the Racers took the lead late, but couldn't hang on as the Eagles got the winner with 2.2 seconds left.
Â
The drama was set when Murray State trailed 70-64 as the final quarter started.
Â
A 22-9 run and a 3-point basket by Bethea gave MSU its first second half lead at 74-73 with 3:39 remaining.
Â
A post score by James tied it at 78-78 with 57 seconds remaining and again with 20 seconds left the game was tied at 80-80 on a pair of Bethea free throws.
Â
Morehead State took the lead for good with 2.2 left on a basket by Miranda Crockett and the final shot by Gulledge at the buzzer that would've won the game rimmed off giving the Eagles the 82-80 win.
Â
The Racers started the game with a 4-2 lead with 7:46 left in the opening quarter. When the Eagles went on a 14-3 run, the Racers trailed 16-7 with less than three minutes left in the first quarter. The first quarter ended with the Racers trailing 19-12.
