Racers Set to Host Kentucky State on ESPN+

After taking a series from Austin Peay over the weekend, the Murray State baseball team return to the field Tuesday afternoon for a midweek matchup with Kentucky State.
This will be the fourth straight season the Racers and Thoroughbreds meet on the diamond after beginning the series in 2016. Murray State has won the previous three games and outscored KSU 50-11 in the three contests.
The Racers have found consistency in the outfield as they have sent the same three out there for the past six games. Jake Slunder currently leads the team in hitting with a .300 average while Tyler Duke is second at .296, and Brock Anderson is third at .288. and leads the team with five home runs and 15 RBI. The three have also combined to commit just one error this season.
Murray State also put on their best pitching performance of the season against Austin Peay as the staff had a 1.66 ERA while striking out 23 and allowing just 17 hits in 27 innings of work.
Peyton Hayes will be on the mound for the Racers against the Thoroughbreds, making his first start of the season. However, he did make 10 starts last year before but has found a role in the bullpen, earning two saves this season.
