Murray State women's tennis will begin their postseason campaign against UT Martin at the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament on Friday morning. The first-round match, which will take place at Hadley Park in Nashville, Tennessee, will be the 6/3 matchup after Murray State's 6-2 conference record earned them the third seed in this year's tournament.

Last Time Out:
The Racers have not played since April 17^th, when they hosted Austin Peay in a Heritage Bank Battle of the Border match at the Bennie Purcell Tennis courts in Murray, Kentucky. With a share of the conference title on the line, the Racers came up short in their regular-season finale, falling to the Governors with a score of 5-2. Claire Chang (7-5, 6-3) prevailed in straight sets, while Sara Loncarevic (6-4, 5-7, 1-0) also earned a victory for Murray State on the day.

The Racers enter the tournament at 12-8 overall, with a 6-2 mark against Ohio Valley Conference competition. They enter Friday's match against the Skyhawks as winners of four of their last five matches to finish out their regular season schedule.

Individually, the Racers are led by Aarja Chakraborty, Amina Hadzic, and Sara Loncarevic, who all posted a 7-1 record in OVC singles play in 2019. In doubles competition, the duo of Amina Hadzic and Sara Loncarevic went 6-2 in the OVC on the year to lead Murray State in the regular season.

The Skyhawks enter Friday's match with an overall record of 5-11, while going 3-5 against conference opponents on the year. UT Martin reaches the conference tournament as the sixth and final seed, after earning a 5-2 victory against SIUE and a 4-3 triumph over Eastern Illinois their final matches of the regular season.

UT Martin is fueled by Asel Jumamukhambetova, who has gone 5-3 in OVC singles competition in the No. 1 position for the Skyhawks. Amelia Campbell has also earned a 5-3 record in singles competition to propel UT Martin into the postseason.
