Main Places Sixth in Heptathlon, McAdam is Fifth in 800m at Drake Relays

Aubrey Main returned for day two of the heptathlon while Hilary McAdam ran in the 800m at the Drake Relays, Thursday in Des Moines.
When all was said and done in the heptathlon, Main finished in sixth place with a personal best score of 4,880. Among collegiate athletes, she finished second in the event, ahead of athletes from schools such as Purdue, Western Michigan, and Northern Iowa.
After finishing ninth in the long jump with a mark of 5.38m and 12th in the javelin with a distance of 26.58m, Main wrapped up the event with her best performance of day two as she finished fifth in the 800m with a personal-best time of 2:22.58.
In the 800m, McAdam finished fifth out of 23 runners with a time of 2:11.05, her best time of the season, beating out runners from Marquette, Iowa State, Missouri State, and Iowa.
The Racer track and field team is not done for the week as they will compete at the Memphis Invitational, Friday and Saturday.
