Racers Sweep the Heptathlon at OVC Championships

It was a clean sweep for Murray State in the heptathlon at the OVC Championships, Friday morning in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Aubrey Main claimed the OVC title with a school-record 5,012 points. She becomes the first Racer in history to win the heptathlon title while her score was also the fourth-best in OVC championship history.
Joining Main on the podium are Jessikha Ribeiro, who finished second with 4,779 points, and Ashlyn Oren, who finished third with 4,771 points. They also set new personal records in the process.
Day two could not have got off to a better start for the three athletes as they swept the top three spots in the long jump. Riberio won the event with a jump of 5.65m with Main finishing second with a personal-best distance of 5.56m. Oren was not far behind in third with a jump of 5.53m.
Oren was the top performer of the three in the javelin as she shattered a personal record with a throw of 30.31m to finish fifth. Main finished sixth with a distance of 29.51m and Ribeiro was 10th with a personal-best throw of 25.92m.
The three clinched the sweep with the last event of the day, the 800m. Main crossed the line in second place to secure the title at a personal-record time of 2:20.69. Ribeiro was sixth with a time of 2:30.48 and Oren finished right behind her in seventh with a time of 2:30.92, also a personal best.
The day is not over yet for these three ladies as all three will compete in the high jump at 2:30 p.m., while Oren and Ribeiro will also compete for the long jump title at 5 p.m. It is all available to stream on ESPN+ and you can follow along with live results here.
