Morehead State Stuns Racers with Four-Run Ninth

The Morehead State Eagles scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth to stun the Racers, 5-4, Friday evening in Morehead, Ky.
Murray State falls to 19-22 on the year and 13-9 in the OVC while the Eagles improve to 30-17 overall and match the Racers at 13-9 in conference play.
Jaron Robinson hit two solo home runs and Jordan Cozart belted a two-run home run to provide the offense for Murray State while Gray Dorsey had a strong outing on the mound, throwing six scoreless innings with a couple of strikeouts.
The game remained scoreless until the fifth inning when Robinson gave the Racers the lead with his first homer of the game to the deepest part of the ballpark in left. He doubled the Murray State lead in the seventh with his second home run, this time hitting a high fly ball over the high wall in right field.
Morehead State got a run back in the eighth, but Braydon Cook preserved the lead as he induced a double play to Robinson, who barehanded a little looper by the bag, stepped on second and fired to first to end the inning.
Cozart gave the Racers some cushion in the ninth as he smacked a two-run home run to center field to put the Racers up 4-1. However, it turned out to not be enough as the Eagles scored four runs in the ninth on a two-run home run and a two-run walk-off single.
The two teams will continue their series with game two tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m.
