Murray State's 96th Season - Looks Like None Other Before It
The Murray State Racers open the 2020-21 season with a Sunday game (Nov. 29) against the Greenville Panthers at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky, in a 4 p.m. tip. Since the Covid-19 pandemic halted all college basketball only days after the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament in March, its influence on the landscape of the game will make the 2020-21 season different than any other. Teams and conferences had a pensive preseason period when scheduling was difficult to lock in and will remain so as the season progresses. Originally scheduled to open the season the day before Thanksgiving against Brescia, that game was cancelled and then MSU's two games with Kentucky Wesleyan were cancelled because of established protocols.
Froggy 103.7 FM - Flagship Station For Racer Basketball
In his 30th season, the "Voice of the Racers" and now a Murray State Hall of Famer, Neal Bradley is on the call again for the 2019-20 season. Former MSU assistant coach Kenny Roth provides analysis. All MSU games can be heard online at Froggy103.com and GoRacers.com. Online streaming video is supplied by ESPN+
Brown Begins Junior Season With Eye on Joining the 1000 Point Club
MSU's Tevin Brown enters the season with 960 points and is set to become the 47th member of the MSU 1000-Point Club. Ja Morant, Terrell Miller and Jonathan Stark were the most recent Racers to join this illustrious group in MSU history.
In two seasons, Brown has already made 175 3-pointers, which is ninth in MSU
history. He's primed for a big season after becoming the only player last season to have 522 points, 148 rebounds, 117 assists and 85 made 3-point shots.
Racers Open 23rd Season In The Bank
The Racers have won 21-of-22 home openers at the CFSB Center with the only loss being a 77-74 thriller to the Houston Cougars in 2014. Against NCAA D-I teams, the Racers have won 6-of-7 home openers. The Racers also open the 2020-21 season having won 21 in a row on their home court since their last loss, Jan. 24, 2019, against Belmont.
MSU's 47 game record run between 1996 and 2000 was the longest in the nation when it ended. It's still the record at Murray State. The winning streak is a thing of legend to Racer fans because it has never been close to being matched since. The streak is also famous for closing down the last 30 games at Racer Arena and opening the CFSB Center with 17 straight wins.
