Battle of the Border - Racers vs Govs
The Murray State Racers (18-6, 11-1 OVC) travel to the Dunn Center in Clarksville, Tennessee, Thursday for the first of two games this season against the Austin Peay Governors (16-9, 10-2 OVC). The 8 p.m. tip will be aired by ESPNU.

Racers-Govs Series Trends
Murray State and Austin Peay first played in 1942 and had their first game in the OVC in 1964. The Racers lead the all-time series 84-43 and are 30-28 in Clarksville. MSU has won the last five since a loss in overtime at APSU in 2017. The Racers and Govs won't have to wait long for the second meeting. It will come in Murray (Feb. 29), on the final game of the regular season, 16 days after the first clash.
Downtown Tevin Brown
Murray State sophomore is one of the top 3-point shooters in the nation and leads the OVC with 73 made threes, which is good for 18th in all of NCAA D-I. Brown hit 90 threes as a freshman in 2018-19 and is tracking to at least match that this season. Last week in the road games at Belmont (a 71-64 loss) and Tennessee State (A 73-65 win) Brown was held to 10 points by the Bruins, but came back against the Tigers with 28 points. For the week, Brown was 4-of-11 from the 3-point line. When the Racers are going well, so is Brown. This season, he has led the team in scoring 16 times and has 11 games this season of scoring 20 or more points.
Racers & February FunÂ
Murray State's loss last week at Belmont marked their first and only loss in the month of February in the last three seasons. Since 2018, the Racers are 20-1 in OVC games in February. MSU is trying to win a third-straight OVC championship.
The last three-peat for MSU was from 2009-11. From 1988 to 2000, MSU won or shared 12 of 13 regular-season titles.
