Battle Between OVC Founding Members
The Murray State/Morehead State series pits two of the original founding members of the OVC against each other for the 166th time. The series with the Eagles is the second-longest the Racers have, behind only the series with Tennessee Tech (also an OVC founder). With the recent change in the  OVC's scheduling procedure, the Racers and Eagles mostly played only once per the regular season. The Racers have won the last four meetings since the Eagles beat Murray State in overtime 101-100 at Morehead in 2017. The Racers and Eagles met for the first time 86 years ago in 1934.
The Racers lead the all-time series with Morehead State 114-51 and are 61-14 all-time at home. The Racers have won 21 of the last 25 games since 2005 and have won the last 12 meetings with Morehead State at the CFSB Center since the Eagles' last win in 2003.
The Racers also carry an 18 game home win streak since their last loss to Belmont in 2019.
Eaves Becomes Consistent SeniorÂ
Murray State senior Jaiveon Eaves has become a third scoring threat for the Racers along with Tevin Brown and KJ Williams. In the APSU game Thursday, Eaves set his career-high with 21 points as he led the Racers in scoring for the first time this season. He was 8-of-13 from the field and snagged four rebounds.Â
