Having finished up a stretch of the 2020-21 season when they played 5-of-7 games away from home, the Murray State Racers (5-6, 2-4) welcomes the Jacksonville State Gamecocks (8-5, 4-3) to the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky. Thursday is a doubleheader day at The Bank with the women's game starting at 4:30 p.m. and the men's game follows at 7:30 p.m.
The game marks the 28th all-time meeting between the Racers and Gamecocks with all of the clashes coming after JSU joined the Ohio Valley Conference in 2004. This week marks the start of a four-game home stand for the Racers with JSU, Tennessee Tech, Tennessee State and Belmont making visits in the next two weeks.

Racers Put The Brakes On Skid at UTM
Saturday's 79-57 victory at UT Martin was welcome for many reasons. Most important was stopping their first four-game losing streak since 1987. The win also marked MSU's first road win of the season and the Racers hit a season-best 10 baskets from the 3-point line in the win, their first game in nine days.
Â
Bostick On Point In First Start
A freshman out of Clearwater, Florida, Dionte Bostick made his first career start at MSU in the UTM game and gave a very good account of himself. Bostick scored 11 points on 4-of-8 from the field (1-of-3 from the 3-point line) to go with nine assists in 21 minutes on the floor. Bostick wears jersey No. 4. Other recent Racers to wear that number include Noah Kamba (2019-20), Brion Sanchious (2015-19), Jarvis Williams (2013-15), Latreze Mushatt (2010-13) and Tyler Holloway (2005-09).
KJ Williams Just Makes Baskets
When MSU's big man, KJ Williams, set the MSU single-season field goal percentage record in his freshman season, the Racers knew they had something special. In that first season (2018-19) Williams hit .698 from the field on 111-of-159 and he had a lot to do with Ja Morant setting the MSU record of 331. Williams is playing well in his junior season and with a lot of confidence. Coming into the JSU game, Williams is first in the OVC in field goal percentage at .721 on 31-of-43 shots. He has 797 points in 75 games as a Racer and soon will be the 48th member of the MSU 1000-Point Club, following teammate Tevin Brown who was the 47th player to make it on Dec. 5.
OVC Teams Learn To Be Patient & PivotÂ
Postponed and rescheduled games, plus the results of the latest Covid tests are the most important stats these days. With a national average of about 75 percent of regularly scheduled games being played in NCAA D-I, the OVC has completed about 80 percent of it's games through the weekend. The OVC has been able to complete 110-of-137 games.Â
