A Win Saturday Would...
A win Thursday would give the Racers their first three-game win streak of the season.
All Good Things
Junior Macey Turley's consecutive made free throw streak came to an end Thursday, but not before she set a new program record with 45. With her first two makes of the game, Turley surpassed Paige Guffey's previous record of 44 set in 2008.
Cleaning It Up
As a team, the Racers have recently gotten their turnovers under control going from 19.4 in the first seven games to just 13.5 in the past six. In addition, Macey Turley has also shored up her turnovers at point guard from 4.3 in the first seven games to 1.3 in the past six. In those past six games, Turley has not committed more than two turnovers in a single game, committed just one twice and committed none in the win over Belmont.
All About Free throws
Currently, Murray State is the best team in the OVC and 11th-best nationally at getting to the line making 286 total trips or 22.0 per game. However, the Racers don't just get to the line, they excel there with 217 total makes or 16.7 per game, which also leads the OVC and is the seventh-highest total nationally. Percentage wise, the Racers are making free throws at a 75.9-percent clip, which is the second-highest in the OVC and 38th-best in the nation. Individually, Macey Turley has the nation's 11th-best percentage as she has hit 55 of 58 attempts for 94.8 percent.
