Racers show out in final tune-up before OVC Championships
The Murray State rifle team shot season-high scores in smallbore and aggregate Saturday in a 4728-4694 loss to Kentucky at the Pat Spurgin Rifle Range in Murray, Kentucky. The Racers shot a season-best 2340 in smallbore and a 2354 in air rifle that was above their season-average for season-high aggregate of 4694.
Multiple Racers shot season and career bests Saturday including Matias Kiuru who posted career-highs in all three categories with a 588 in smallbore, a 597 in air rifle and an 1185 aggregate. Emily Endecott also came up big for MSU in air rifle in the match with a career-high 591, while Anna Scheer set a new career mark in smallbore at 584 and a season-high in aggregate at 1172. Scott Patterson also set a career-high in smallbore Saturday at 576, while Dana Buessler shot a season-high on the gun as well, with a 582.
The Racer will take one week off before traveling to Morehead, Kentucky Feb. 6-7 for the 2021 OVC Rifle Championships.
