A win Friday would send Murray State its fourth OVC championship game overall and first since 2007-08.
In Good Company
Katelyn Young scored a game-high 25 points Thursday to give her 611 total points on the season, making her just the fifth Racer to score 600-plus points in a single season. She joins Ashley N. Hayes (2007-08), Amber Guffey (2007-08), Sheila Smith (1987-88 & 1988-89) and Ke'Shunnan James (2017-18) as the only players to accomplish the feat. Only a sophomore, Young is now the youngest player in program history to reach 600-plus points in one season.
Five-Sided Attack
For the fourth time this season, five Racers reached double-digits Thursday against SIUE. Including Thursday, MSU is now 4-0 contests.
Joining The Club
With 993 career points, Katelyn Young needs just seven to become the 20th member of Murray State's 1,000 point club. If she does it Friday, she will be the second fastest Racer in history to reach the milestone. Sheila Smith was the fastest to 1,000 points, doing so in 57 games, if Young reaches 1,000 points tomorrow she will have done so in 58 games.
