Baseball Set for OVC Series with UT Martin

Murray State (15-16) baseball hosts UT Martin for a three-game series beginning on Thursday at 5 pm at Johnny Reagan Field in Murray, Kentucky. The Skyhawks enter the weekend at 8-21 on the season while both sides sit at 1-8 in OVC play.

Jake Slunder continues to be the catalyst at the top of the Racers lineup, batting .326 on the year with three home runs and five triples. The preseason All-OVC outfielder leads the team in hits, total bases, and slugging percentage while hitting primarily in the leadoff spot.

The pairing of Jordyn Naranjo and Malik Pogue leads the Racers bullpen in 2022. Naranjo has tossed 22 innings to a 2.05 ERA this season while Pogue has thrown 16.2 innings on the mound for the Racers with a 3.24 ERA this year.

UT Martin is led offensively by Casey Harford. Harford enters the series with a .295 batting average, seven doubles, and four home runs. The senior infielder leads the Skyhawks in total bases and RBIs this season.

Rhett Fetner anchors the Skyhawks pitching staff, tossing 41.1 innings on the year with a 3.27 ERA and 40 strikeouts in eight appearances.
