Murray State and Memphis will Square Off on Monday Night at 6 pm at FedEx Park

Murray State (18-16) baseball travels south for a 6 pm Monday matchup with Memphis at FedEx Field in Memphis, Tennessee. The Racers are coming straight off of a weekend sweep over UT Martin in which starting pitching was the headliner.

MSU starting pitching dominated the weekend after tossing 17.0 innings while not allowing an earned run. Graduates Jake Slunder and Jordan Holly lead the Racers offense with each batting above .300 on the year and combining for 18 extra-base hits on the year. Slunder is tied for the national lead with six triples in his 2022 campaign.

Racers baserunners have wreaked havoc throughout the year, stealing 76 bases to place them top 15 nationally. Bryson Bloomer, Brennan McCullough, Holly, and Slunder all have at least 13 stolen bases to lead MSU in the category.

SCOUTING REPORT

The Tigers enter the contest at 15-16 on the year after taking two games from South Florida to win their series over the weekend. Logan Kohler leads the offense for Memphis with a .330 batting average to go with six home runs and eight doubles in 2022.

Logan Rushing leads the Memphis bullpen with 12 appearances on the year for 14.1 innings pitched to a 2.51 ERA this season. Rushing has struck out 16 while allowing 16 hits to opponents on the campaign.
