Baseball Falls to SIUE on Johnny Reagan Day

Murray State (23-19) baseball fell to SIUE 6-4 on Saturday afternoon at Johnny Reagan Field. Prior to the game, the baseball program welcomed the family of the late Coach Johnny Reagan with the announcement that the Reagan Family would contribute $100,000 to the Murray State baseball program.

The Racers bats got started early with three runs in the first inning from an RBI-double from Bryson Bloomer to score Jacob Pennington and a two-run home run from Drew Vogel. Following a Jake Slunder double in the second inning, Jordan Holly scored on a wild pitch. The Racers posted four extra-base hits on the day with doubles from Bloomer and Slunder, a triple from Brennan McCullough and the home run from Vogel. MSU out hit SIUE 10 to nine in the contest but were unable to plate the go-ahead run late in the game.

Hayden Wynja earned the start on the mound and went 4.2 innings pitched allowing just two earned runs and striking out five in the outing.
