Scouting the Razorbacks
- The Razorbacks made it all the way to the Great Eight of the WNITs last season.
- Arkansas's Makayla Baker is one of only 15 players to started in all games they played with a minimum of 100 contests. Baker has played and started in 123 games.
- Under the basket, the Razorbacks return Saylor Poffenbarger who racked up 255 rebounds in the 2022-23 season and 21 rebounds in the season opener against ULM.
- All eyes are on newcomer Taliah Scott who posted 29 points on her Razorback debut against ULM.
- The Razorbacks' starters against ULM feature four returners and one newcomer freshman.
- A win means the Racers opening up the season 1-0.
- A first Racers win over the Razorbacks.
- Will be the Racers' eighth win over an SEC opponent and Turner's second including last year's triumph over Kentucky.
- Head Coach Rechelle Turner enters her seventh season after guiding the Racers through their inaugural MVC season, where they lost in the quarterfinals to regular season champions Illinois State by two points (73-75).
- This year's edition of the Racers includes the return of the 2023 All-MVC First Team honoree, Katelyn Young.
- Young led The Valley in points per game with 21.4 last season. She was named Preseason All-MVC First Team and was included in the Her Hoops Stats 2024 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Watch List.
- Young is 600 points away from the Racers' all-time scoring leader.
- Among the eleven returners are two new faces. Freshmen Haven Ford and Destiny Thomas, along with transfers Trinity White and Ava Learn, brings a new look for the Racers.
- The Racers are picked to place seventh in the 2023-24 MVC season in a poll by the league's head coaches and media members.
- Freshman Haven Ford was named 2023 Miss Kentucky Basketball in her senior year of high school.
