Kayla Bell runs second-fastest 400m time in program history to win at Bellarmine Classic
Muray State track and field sees to program champions at the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic, Friday.
Kayla Bell highlights the meet by winning the 400m run with a time of 54.57 seconds to jump up to second in the program's top-10 list. Stephanie Saleem set the program record (52.67) in 1990.
"For that to be Kayla's first 400 of the year was awesome!" said head coach Adam Kiesler.
Alyssa Williams also grabbed an event championship in the 60m dash with a time of 7.59 seconds, while Brooke Misukonis is close to a podium finish, placing fourth in the pole vault by clearing the 3.80m (12'5.5") bar.
"The vaulters saw some really good bars which again will pay off," said Kiesler. "We saw a lot of small Improvements that will go a long way soon. We look forward to next week and having everyone firing on all cylinders by championship time."
The Racers are heading to Vanderbilt for their final non-conference meet of the season, Friday.
