Racers Fall On the Road At Indiana State

MSU falls to the Sycamores at the Hulman Center in Terre Haute
The Murray State Racers fell 99-56 Saturday afternoon to the Indiana State Sycamores at the Hulman Center in Terre Haute.
Struggling to find a way to win away from home this season, the Racers (13-11) fell to 2-9 in road games and are 8-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference. However, The Racers return home to the CFSB Center Tuesday, where they are 9-1, to host the Drake Bulldogs on Greek Night in a 7 p.m. tip.
Rob Perry Scored 14 points, while JaCobi Wood added 13 points for the Racers who shot 37 percent from the field (19-of-51) and 5-of-15 (33 percent) from the 3-point line. The Racers continued their solid free throw shooting making 13-of-17 for 76 percent.
The Racers scored on five of their first six possessions with a pair of threes from Perry and Moore to get a 11-7 lead in the first three and a half minutes. ISU hit the Racers with a 16-2 run over the next 4:30 to jump in front 23-13 at the 9:44 mark. MSU hit 5-of-6 late in the first half, but went into the halftime intermission trailing the Sycamores 40-28. ISU outscored the Racers 59-28 in the second half.

Game Notes
- Today's contest was game 24 of the 30-game regular season and game 14 of the 20-game MVC season.
- MSU was trying for three-straight wins for the first time this season.
- MSU will try and snap a five-game road slide (Feb. 11) at Bradley
- The Racers and Sycamores split their two-game season series after the Racers won the first meeting at home 82-73 (Jan. 21).
- ISU leads the all-time series with the Racers 8-4.
- MSU made its first visit to the Hulman Center since 2008 and it was their first visit there as an MVC member
- The Racers host Greek Night Tuesday when Drake visits The Bank.
- MSU has three home games remaining this season. After Drake on Tuesday, the Racer host Evansville (Feb. 18) and Valparaiso (Feb. 26).
