Racers Take Smallbore at OVC Championship

MSU leads field by 23 points heading into final day
The Murray State rifle team shot a 2329 in smallbore Saturday and holds a 23-point lead heading into the final day of the 2023 OVC Rifle Championship at the Skyhawk Rifle Range in Martin, Tenn.
Matias Kiuru led all shooters Saturday with a 586, while John Blanton was one off his score with a 585. Scott Patterson was next in line for Murray State with a 580, while Allison Henry and Paola Paravati rounded out the Racers' day at 578 and 577, respectively.
Morehead State is currently in second behind the Racers at 2306, while UT Martin is in third with a 2274.
The Racers return to Skyhawk Rifle Range Sunday in search of their 17th OVC tile. The air rifle portion of the even is set to begin at 9 a.m.
