Murray State baseball is set for a pair of midweek battles as they host Alabama A&M on Tuesday before traveling to UT Martin for a Wednesday matchup.

Scouting Report

Alabama A&M enters the contest at 11-19 overall with their most recent matchup coming in a 18-7 loss to Florida A&M. Tommy Easley leads the Bulldogs, starting all 30 games with a .368 batting average along with seven doubles and 30 RBIs.

UT Martin sits at 11-26 overall while most recently earning a series win over Southern Indiana. The Skyhawks defeated the Racers 5-2 in the two sides' previous matchup this season on February 21. Hunter McClean leads UTM with a .341 batting average with six doubles and 15 RBIs.

Murray State picked up their first-ever sweep in the MVC in their three-game set with Illinois State. The Racers bats showed up in a big way totaling 29 runs and 40 hits. In the series, Murray State launched eight long balls to complete their first road sweep since April of last season.

Dustin Mercer put on a show in the Racers sweep of Illinois State this weekend, totaling 10 hits and nine RBIs across the week. For the week, the Weddington, North Carolina native would hit .526, going 10-for-19 with half of his hits coming in the extra-base variety. With three home runs and two doubles on the week, Mercer's OPS totaled 1.676. Mercer also impacted the game on the base paths going a perfect 3-for-3 on stolen bases while also scoring seven runs.
