Murray State baseball is set to travel to Indiana State for a pivotal three-game set with the 11th-ranked Sycamores at Bob Warn Field in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Indiana State enters the contest at 33-13 overall while leading the MVC with a 19-2 conference record. Seth Gergely leads the ISU at the plate, starting 45 games with a .316 batting average along with five home runs and 28 RBIs along with Mike Sears and his team high 15 home runs and 45 RBIs.
Matt Jachec leads the arms for the Sycamores with a 3.13 ERA across 74.2 innings pitched and 78 strikeouts. ISU has eight pitchers with a sub-4.50 ERA this season.

Murray State picked up wins over both Southeast Missouri and Missouri State on the week. The win over SEMO completed the Racers first season sweep of the RedHawks since 2010 while the win against Missouri State snapped the Bears' nine-game winning streak.

Alex Elsing was nearly untouchable throughout the week as he made appearances in both Racers' wins over Southeast Missouri and Missouri State. The junior right-hander was instrumental in shutting down potent offenses in both the RedHawks and Bears as he allowed just one hit across the pair of appearances. Elsing picked up eight strikeouts while giving up just one walk on the week. In his second outing of the week, Elsing was pivotal in the Murray State win over Missouri State in which the Racers snapped the Bears nine-game winning streak. Â
