The Racers played in Powells Point, N.C. for the first time in program history

The Murray State men's golf team slipped to ninth place after a third round 297 Tuesday at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate at Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powells Point, North Carolina.

Lennon Albans and Jay Nimmo paced the Racers as they shared 18^th place in the field of 73 competitors. Albans had a score line of 66 75 74 215, while Nimmo had scores of 75 66 74 215. Their pair of 66's marked the low rounds of the event for the Racers.

The Racers carded a pair of 288 scores in the first two days of the event and added a 297 in the final round to slip from fourth place to ninth.

Murray State's next event will get the spring portion of the 2024-25 campaign going (Feb. 8) when they meet Austin Peay in the annual Battle of the Border Match Play. The Racers play in New Orleans (Feb. 24-25), St. Simons Island, Georgia (March 13-15) and Sweetens Cove Intercollegiate Match Play (March 24-25). April finds the Racers competing (April 5-6) in Bloomington, Indiana, in Starkville, Mississippi (April 14-15), before taking on the Missouri Valley Conference Championship (April 20-22) in Des Moines, Iowa.
