Racers Handle Wildcats in First Exhibition of the Season

Four reach double figures as Murray State downs Bethel 98-66
Murray State women's basketball defeated Bethel (Tenn.) 98-66 in an exhibition matchup inside the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky.
Four Racers reached double figures as newcomer Halli Poock led all scorers with 21 points to go with eight assists. Katelyn Young reached familiar territory, picking up a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds as Ava Learn also reached a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore guard Haven Ford rounded out the double digit performances with 18 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.Â
Paducah, Ky. native Destiny Thomas played a key role with eight points and seven rebounds of her own as the Racers stacked up 46 points in the paint. 10 different Racers were in the scoring column on the night with Braxcynn Baker, Jada Cook, and Adalyn Koelling each scoring in their first collegiate minutes.
Murray State will get the regular season started on November 7 when they host SIUE for a 6 p.m. tip-off.
