Murray State win their 147th all-time meeting with Middle Tennessee
The Murray State Racers ran past Middle Tennessee Saturday 88-67 in their 147th all-time meeting with the Blue Raiders at the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro.
The Racers (2-1) are back at home this week for a pair of games against teams they've never met before. MSU hosts Maryland Eastern Shore and Utah Valley on Wednesday and Friday at the CFSB Center with both games beginning at 7 p.m.
KyeRon Lindsay led four Racers in double-digit scoring with a career-high 27 points. His 31 minutes off the bench included hitting 12-of-16 shots and 3-of-4 from the free throw line with eight rebounds and five blocked shots.
AJ Ferguson added 16 points on four-straight 3-pointers, while JaCobi Wood scored 15 and Terence Harcum 11.
The Racers started slow and trailed 22-13 at 12:15 when they found their defensive game and hit an offensive stride that produced a 14-0 run over 2:57. Lindsay hit a pair of shots in the lane and assisted Justin Morgan who drilled a corner three for a 27-22 lead at 9:01.
The Racers enjoyed a 44-30 lead at the halftime intermission on 64 percent shooting on 16-of-25.
Murray State's lead went to 20 in the first five minutes of the second half. The Blue Raiders got as close as 10 points with 11:33 remaining, but Harcum hit back-to-back threes, followed by another from AJ Ferguson as the Racers cruised to the win.
