Murray State Begins MVC Play, Hosts Illinois State on Sunday

Murray State women's basketball hosts Illinois State to begin the MVC Season

Murray State women's basketball hosts Illinois State on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky. The meeting marks the start of the Missouri Valley Conference campaign as the Racers and Redbirds split their matchups last season with MSU winning in Murray 90-55.

The Racers enter the matchup ranking inside the top 10 nationally in three pointers made per game, scoring offense, three point attempts per game, and free throws made per game.

Four Racers all average 13.6 points or more per contest in Halli Poock, Katelyn Young, Haven Ford, and Ava Learn. In the Racers last matchup in the CFSB Center, they posted 110 points against Western Carolina, the fourth time passing the century mark in scoring this season.

The Racers enter the contest at 6-3 on the season.

Scouting Report

Illinois State enters the game at 6-5 on the season, falling to UAB in their last time out. Shannon Dowell leads the Redbirds with 14.4 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game. Three other Redbirds average double figures in scoring as they average 75.2 points per contest as a team.
