- 2024-25 is the 100th season of collegiate basketball at Murray State & third in the Missouri Valley Conference.
- Sunday's matinee marks the 89th meeting between the Racers and Redhawks, who competed in the Ohio Valley Conference for 30 seasons from 1992 to 2022.
- The Racers lead the all-time series 67-21 and are 32-10 at home and have won the last 11 dating to the Redhawks last win in 2017 at the CFSB Center.
- The Racers and SEMO history goes all the way back to their first game in 1931.
