The Racers meet old rival Southeast Missouri for the 89th Time

2024-25 is the 100th season of collegiate basketball at Murray State & third in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Sunday's matinee marks the 89th meeting between the Racers and Redhawks, who competed in the Ohio Valley Conference for 30 seasons from 1992 to 2022.
The Racers lead the all-time series 67-21 and are 32-10 at home and have won the last 11 dating to the Redhawks last win in 2017 at the CFSB Center.
The Racers and SEMO history goes all the way back to their first game in 1931.
Today's game marks their first game since the Racers left the OVC after 74 seasons in 2022 to join the MVC.
The Racers are coming off opening their third season in The Valley Tuesday 63-61 over Evansville giving MSU four wins in their last five games.
JaCobi Wood scored a season-high 21 points with six rebounds and five assists for the Racers, while Kylen Milton scored his MSU-best 12 points with seven rebounds to pace the MSU attack.
The Racers have started the same five in all seven games: JaCobi Wood, Terence Harcum, Kylen Milton, AJ Ferguson and Nick Ellington.
Wood and Ellington, who were named All-MVC Preseason, have started all 109 combined games they've been involved in at MSU. Wood 72 straight starts and Ellington is now at 39 in a row.
