Racers Look Ahead To Weekend Series With Warhawks

The Murray State Racers are slated for their first three-game series on the road with the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks. MSU is looking to bounce back after dropping their first game of the season to the Southeast Missouri Redhawks.
This is the first time the Racers and Warhawks face off in program history.

Scouting Report
The Warhawks enter the series with a 2-2 record under head coach Mike Federico, who is in his seventh season at the helm of the ULM baseball program with a combined record of 127-167-1 dating back to the 2018 season.
Freshman outfielder Easton Winfield has been the core of the Warhawks' offense thus far, batting .667 with five runs scored, a double, triple and a home run. ULM's pitching staff has struggled to start the season, allowing at least six runs in three of their four games and holding a team ERA of 7.15.
Weekly Notes
Through the first four games of the season, Carson Garner has posted a staggering 2.113 OPS with four home runs and a .571 batting average. Garner leads the MVC in OPS, SLG, RBIs and is tied for the most home runs (4) with SIU's Steven Loden.
Alex Elsing has struck out 10 batters through 4.2 relief innings, allowing just two hits and a walk. Allen Roulette is among the nation's top pitchers with an impressive WHIP of 0.19. He has allowed just one hit while striking out six in 5 1/3 innings out of the bullpen.
Murray State's pitching staff sits atop the conference in combined strikeout total (44) and opponents' batting average (.179).
