- Murray State enters their second Hoops in the Heartland as the sixth seed and took down 11th seed Bradley (87-49) to advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
- The Racers handed Missouri State their only home loss of the season when they beat the Bears 95-89 on Feb. 11.
- The Bears also handed the Racers their first home loss of this season (74-84) on Jan. 28.
- This will be the eighth meeting between the Racers and Bears with Missouri State leading the series 5-2.
- The Racers fell in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Hoops in the Heartland when they suffer a narrow 73-75 loss to Illinois State.
- MSU enters the game with the fifth-highest scoring offense in the nation with 85.5 points per game. They have 12 90-plus point games this season.
